NJ Youth Basketball League:
The NJYB League is designed to help introduce competitive basketball in a fun environment. Majority of the game schedule is set early on in the season. It is possible that changes will be made during the season, but unlikely. No admissions for regular season games. Sometimes the end of season tournaments will have a small entrance fee for parents.
Hoop Heaven League: Hoop Heaven League sends out their league schedule one week at a time. The reason for this is because they like to adjust the schedule based on the strength of teams in the league. If you win by a lot the first game they put you against a weaker team the next week. Same thing if you lose a game by a lot. There is small admission fee to all games for parents Game locations are Hoop Heaven Whippany or Hoop Heaven in Branchburg.
Tournaments:
Tournaments are typically more competitive than the leagues above. Local tournaments typically will have two games in one day. Tournaments typically take place within 30 minutes of our location. The times and location are not released until several days before the day of the tournament. The days of the tournaments will be figured out in the first couple weeks of the season. There will be an admissions fee for all tournaments.
Elite Teams:
Our highest level program, to play on this team you must make Cyclones your number one priority. These teams are looking to compete against the best of the best. We might play 1 or 2 local tournaments, but we are looking to play in nationally recognized tournaments.
Make Up Tryouts: If you can’t make tryouts but would still like to participate, please email, ryan@njcyclones.com or coachmickey@njcyclones.com to schedule a makeup tryout.
Parental Responsibilities:
Anyone who signs up for the season is responsible for communicating their child’s attendance to practice and games. We use team snap for communication, while we understand people have outside commitments and not able to attend every event. We don’t understand why those conflicts can not be communicated during the season.
Our parents are an extension of our program, we will not tolerate parents who are verbally or physically abusing to referees, our coaches, staff members of our rental facilities or the visiting facilities, etc. If we find any parent that has done so, we will remove them from our program.
We also expect the kids in our program to show respect to our coaches and supporting staff that we work with to make the season possible. It is the parents responsibility to help us mitigate and enforce this behavior.
Uniform: All new players (not including little ballers clinic) need to purchase a new uniform. You can do this when paying for the season. We will provide uniforms to new player during the first or 2nd week of practice. Returning players, that need a new uniform, need to tell us via email or via team snap. We assume all returning players have the uniforms they need. $55 dollars for the top $35 for the bottom.
Payments/refund: More most teams payment is due by the first practice. No refunds after the first week of practice.
